EDITORS' RATINGS OVERALL SCORE:

Overall

RATING

Not great or terrible in any area, the G6 defines middle-of-the road in the mid-size segment.

DETAILED EDITORS' RATINGS

Dynamics

RATING

A middle-of-the-road performance in virtually every category keeps the G6's otherwise decent power from shining.

Comfort

RATING

Comfortable, adjustable front seats with optional leather and a tilting and telescoping steering wheel help make the G6 quite comfortable. Adjustable pedal help too. The coupe version has typically long doors and somewhat difficult rear-seat access.

Function

RATING

Intuitive controls with knobs for critical functions and easy-to-interpret design earn the G6 and above average ranking. Adequate trunk space with a folding rear seat increases functionality.

Design/Build Quality

RATING

The G6 has above average exterior styling with decent interior design. A little too much plastic-fantastic feel inside, but an improvement over older GM designs.

DETAILED PROFILE:

Daily Commuter The G6 is best suited to passionless daily driving.

Economical Transportation The G6 is not overpriced, so it might be considered economical by some.
