Review

High-performance "dream machine." Basic mods for this car are a must. Get a reflash, electronic boost controller, and a turboback exhaust.

Favorite Features

Explosive power and acceleration. Very quick and agile handling.

Suggested Improvements

Please improve the smoothness and feel of the shifter. Also, I've heard the 6 speed transmission is weaker than the 5 speed GSR when modding and adding more power. I'm upset to find out that this may be true. The 6 speed should have been made as strong as the 5 speed if these rumors are true.

Review

This car has it all; big enough for a small family and the performance to make driving anywhere exhilarating!!! If this car doesn't come with the equipment you're looking for then simply look for one and have it installed; there are tons of modifications for this high performance family sedan.

Favorite Features

The feel of not even having to floor the pedal to be slammed to the back of the seat.

More horsepower!

Review

Amazing car! I don't know what I would buy if anything happened to it.

Favorite Features

Power, handling, and styling. It also responds great to performance upgrades. For about $2000 in upgrades it will put out over 400 bhp.

Suggested Improvements

I didn't care for the large fender gap on the front wheels, but lowering springs can easily take care of that.

Review

This car is by far the best car I have ever owned. It's practically the funnest car drive in the streets. I mean just by feeling the fast spool up,the control,handling, and even the looks, all in one is something you can't even complain about. This car gives you what you want. If you want to go fast, believe me, y'all go fast. It takes mods very well. Any little mod will make your car even more faster. Believe me I tuned this car to stage 1 and I ran 11.8 at the track in a quarter mile. Thats only about $1500 dollars into mods and I'm running in the 11s now. Enough said, this car is beauty!

How easy it take in the mods that you put in it.

Suggested Improvements

I think everybody easy aware about how weak the clutch is, but oh well you can't take $1500 dollar repair spoil what this car can give you! Other than that , thats the only thing i would suggest that they showed improve.

Review

Owning the evo has been amazing and fun. The Evo makes the worst driver look like a pro. You buy an evo for performance not for creature comforts, with that said I dont mind the lack of style with the interior. Once you buy an evo you're in a community of its own.

Favorite Features

looking like a foor door econo car but once you step on it all you hear is the spooling. handling is amazing gives you confidence in the car. And the biggest part that evo is so mod friendly.

Suggested Improvements

paint is fragile any little sharp object might leave a sracth.

Review

I love my Evo!! The mpg isn't bad at all for all the power. I get about 17 in town and about 28 on the highway. The power is truly addictive. It looks awesome and drives great too. I had a 3000GT twin turbo, but I like the practicality of this car much more, and it looks even better.

Favorite Features

I love everything but especially the Recaro seats, power, brakes, wheels, handling.

Suggested Improvements

The only thing I can think of is maybe make the factory radio better, and the gauges can use some dressing up, other than those things, it's perfect!

Too Good to Be True

Review

I could not be more excited to drive away in my new Evo. Finally, a bang for buck value that I could enjoy everyday except for when the clutch system melted. That was the beginning of the end for me. Don't get me wrong, this car is top speed/handling and all the flash, but after 14500 the clutch is going out and that is not right. To make matters worse, it is labeled a wear item, not a warranty item. Simply put, "buyer beware". I would have kept the car, but not knowing if the clutch would be destroyed after another 14,000 and having to spend another $1400 to replace all the parts... I have had enough.

Favorite Features

Handling and quickness. I have never driven anything like it. This car is no joke and has a lot of agility on the road. Flick the wheel one way and you move, more like teleport. It is very fast in any gear. Simply step on the gas and you are jammed into the back of your seat.

Suggested Improvements

Get a clutch system that can dissipate heat better, or hopefully count on Mitsubishi to have a TSB/Recall on all Evo clutch systems. Make the cabin more quiet. Better stock stereo.

Review

With a small investment in professional tuning - wider down pipe, cosworth cams, reflash and AWD dyno mapping, this car rated 341 whp and turned 11.9. This car was solidly constructed high interior and exterior build quality with plain materials. Sadly, car was impossible to live with. A small trip across Boston to drop off my son and pick him up from camp was always an unpleasant ride. This is a car for enthusiasts in rural areas with garage space. This is a truly fast car.

Favorite Features

Engineering and build quality. AWD system that lets you accelerate to stop sliding. Wonderful Reccaro seats. Powerful brakes. Engine a rocket motor - huge power gains with simple tuning.

Suggested Improvements

Probably the new model makes the car more livable. I like this car the IX. It's the way a fast car should be.

Budget Supercar!

Review

Driving this car opens your eyes to a new paradigm in performance value. Few cars two to three times its cost can challenge the Evo in overall performance, and they're generally not as practical as this 4-door sedan that can seat 5. Test drive one if you can find it. The seating position, steering, power and handling response put you in total control and you always feel connected to the road and confident. The car's dynamics and AWD system makes it very easy to drive spiritedly, and you must be careful not to exceed your own limits. You glance away for a second and you might be in the next lane, and passing power is a heartbeat away. The carbon-fiber wing really keeps the rear planted.

Favorite Features

The steering is world-class, the Recaro seats are amazingly comfortable and supportive, the turbo boost rush is addictive, the AWD keeps the power planted, the time-tested engine design is rock-solid, the racing lineage means you get the real deal.

Suggested Improvements

I replaced the stock radio with an Alpine headunit and it sounds far better. The interior could be fresher, but you really don't care or notice it when you're driving this beast.

Review

The absolute best 34k I could ever spend in my entire life and I'm loving every minute of it. The car is just utterly amazing for a factory car.

Favorite Features

Recaro seats, suspension, none of the clunky luxury features, who needs them for a race car ;)

Suggested Improvements

AYC would have been nice for the usdm 06 models.
