Wrangler high idle at start up
My 2002 jeep wrangler idles at about 1500 at start up for about twenty seconds. Then it slows to normal idle speed. It has just started doing this. Any ideas. Thanks, JIM Read More...
Budget minded lift/tires
Hi I haven't been on in like years, but I don't get too many days off. I have a 2002 Jeep Wrangler Sport and want to get a 4" lift and 33"s but still need to stay within a budget any ideas. Tom: You and I ordered our jeeps about the same time. I was at Culinary School in upstate NY..... Read More...

Re: "bouncing" problem [steve_]
It's a Jeep thang. I bought my 1999 Sahara in May 2002 with the idea that I'd use it as a parade car(long story) and sell it in the fall. I had also heard all the stories about the uncomfortable ride, the unpredictable handling, and horrible HVAC system. Well, we ended up selling a very clean Pathfinder SE and keeping the Jeep. No, it doesn't have Lexus levels of NVH ... Read More...

Re: 2002 Jeep Wrangler [emmy2]
Could be a 'U' joint or maybe an engine mount. However, I can't really be definitive at this distance. You shouldn't have to pay very much for an analysis, in fact some dealers will do that at no charge, as will most independent shops. Read More...

31" tires and 2" suspension lift?
I'm thinking about going from 215/70/R15's to 31 inch tires. I also was thinking about a 2 inch suspension lift for a more agressive look. 1) Would the susp. lift just be a waste of $$.. 2) Would there be much if any impact with engine sluggishness with the 31"s. 3) Would this scenario mess with drivetrain, create "death wooble" etc. 2002 Wrangler Sport, 4.0, Auto, ... 2002 Jeep Wrangler
I have a 2002 4wd Jeep Wrangler X with 59K miles that when driving in 4th or 5th gear and am approaching a stop sign or have to slow down and I put it in neutral, I hear a "clunk" coming from the floor on the passenger side. Without having it checked, I have been told it could be a ball joint or mounting joint. Any suggestions on what it could be before I take it to a dealer and ... Read More...
JK Wrangler's Traction Control vs. AWD in snow
I'm considering a Patriot because I like having a stable vehicle in lousy weather conditions. However, I don't know if the Patriot will have enough capability.....that is besides the point though. For those of you who have driven the JK in snow and ice, how would you compare its traction vs. a vehicle such as a Chevy Blazer w/auto 4WD, or something along the lines ... Read More...
Toyota FJ Cruiser vs Jeep Wrangler
Re: Tellico - Cruisers Rule the day [dae]
On the weekend I was reading an article on the all new 2007 Jeep Wrangler. With the exception of the V-6 engine and the crappy plastic bumpers its a pretty impressive machine especially with that electric sway bar disconnect. I did a little checking on Ramp Travel Indexes tests for various stock vehicles, here are just a few RTI numbers I found: 1991 Honda civic ... Read More...
Re: Jeep Wrangler with kids in car seats [cjurica]
I drive a Wrangler Sport and have since 2001. My first daughter was born in 2001 and my second in 2002. I have driven them to daycare everyday in the jeep. Is it hard to get them in and out? Yes, but it is all in what you are used to. I have to physically climb into the back and unbuckle them from their seats and get them out. I am used to it and it's no problem. I have lost the ...
