Called my Honda delearship who sold me my Honda CRV 2006 and complained about the groan when turning left/right ... said the oil in differential was breaking down and needed to be replaced. 2006 CRV Sports - diff vibrations

Have just written to Honda re. diff vibrations. Bought car in March 06 however 05 biuld. After 10,000kms/8mnths noticed the vibrations but waited a while till it became unbearable then had my dealer replace the diff oil under warranty. Another 24 months on the problem has returned and car goes back to dealer tomorrow for the 2nd diff flush under warranty. Next ... Read More...

I have a 2006 CR-V EX. It has lost oil since it was new, and not just a little. I add a half quart about every thousand miles depending on how I drive it, more for freeway use, less for around town. I don't see any smoke; nor do I see any drips in the garage. I use the recommended 5-20 oil (although I no longer use Honda oil at $6+ per quart!). The car now has about 38K miles and ... Well, add me to the list!! The air went out on my 2004 CR-V a few weeks ago. I took it to the dealership today to get diagnosed. Of course, it was the air compressor. The mechanic informed me that it would cost $1,200.00 to repair. He also informed me that Honda was willing to pay for the parts, and I would only be responsible for the labor. My 2006 CR-V is awaiting it's sixth repair on the A/C. This time I am told it's a loose hose. Previously have been told it's a loose hose, overcharged compressor, a damaged compressor (from a rock), and a loose hose. Have been a happy Honda owner since 1981. If you have a 2002 - 2006 CRV I can tell you that the Kurt hitch is about 100X easier to install not sure on the 98. It bolts right through the frame and all it requires is removing the rubber muffler attachments and snaking some bolts. The Honda one if I remember correctly has like 10 pages of instruction. This is my 5th Honda and after the experience with the Honda CRV and the way the people spoke to me at Honda of America this will be my LAST. I had a 2000 CR-V that we loved, great in snow, good gas mileage, unassuming and most importantly, the only Japanese SUV with a manual tranny. It got totaled (faired excellent in high speed crash), and were turned off by newer model CRVs after my sisters 2003 lost a differential.
