Re: 2006 civic auto start issue [jamriman]
I had several problems this spring, I went and had the regular battery checked and Honda said that it was fine, of course I had just driven 10 miles at highway speed. I had them replace the battery, which it turns out at least for the 06 is about 15% more poerful, less then $100 I think. No problems since. Read More...
Re: Warped rotors at 27,000 miles [nealm]
I also own a 2006 Honda Civic. I have had many problems with this car but the breaks have been perfect. With your mileage you are going to need brakes soon. If I were you I would do it now before you do any damage to the rotors. Brake pads are cheap and the little bit of money you are going to save is not worth the risk of damaging the rotors. I bought OEM brake pads off of Ebay. ... Read More...
Re: HONDA PLEASE QUIET THE INTERIOR OF THE CAR [goose]
I could not agree with you more. Over the years I have experienced the cost costing ways of Honda. Sure their cars have the latest safety and technical advancements, but at what cost? In order to keep the prices of their cars in a reasonable zone they had to make cuts somewhere and I feel that you can see this reflected in the interior, which contributes to how noisy ... Re: best way to connect and iPod to a 2006 Hybrid [rogerb46]
From what I've read, the best combo are CF and PCMCIA from SanDisk for fastest loading. Specifically, the SanDisk Extreme III 4GB or 8GB (I'm using the 8GB with no problem in my 2008 Civic Hybrid), and their SDDR-64-784 Ultra PC Card adapter/reader. SanDisk has stopped making those readers now, so the PC Card I finally settled on is the PPA 1134 link title Also available ... Read More...
Re: Mazda3 vs. Honda Fit??? [tacostand]
As you've already realized I think, it comes down to a car you prefer driving more vs. fuel economy, and maybe reliability (although the 3 has been pretty reliable and is a mature design, while the Fit is a brand-new design and new Honda designs are not unknown to have teething pains, cf. 2006 Civic). So do the math, figure out how much more the gas for the 3 will cost ... Read More...

Re: Automatics in the Civics [heybroder]
My mother had an '08 Corolla brand new and right off the bat, she started having problems with the automatic transmission. Interesting that I don't see too many '09 Corollas on the road! Keep up the great work HONDA!!! It is the number 3 or 4 vehicle in terms of sales; you just don't see them because they are so new, i'd guess. I notice at least one a day on my relatively ... Re: Automatics in the Civics [broadwaytoshop]
I think you misunderstood what I was trying to say, in response to your assertion that a Civic will be more reliable than a Scion. So I will clarify: both Honda and Scion (and its parent Toyota) have excellent reliability records. If there is any evidence to say that the Civic will be significantly more reliable than a Scion, I haven't seen it. But feel free to provide ... Read More...
