I have a 2007 Ford Explorer Sport Trac w/4.6L and my truck was doing this until I got the PCM program updated. To resolve the issues that everyone is referring to take your 2006/2007 Explorer to the Ford service departmaent and reference TSB 07-10-12 which was released by Ford on May 14, 2007. I had very little time to SEE in detail as it was after work and after dark. I agree about the big gap; I'll go back and check it out in daylight. It's at least as quiet as Explorer, it doesn't have the LOOONG hollow interior to echo the sound. Having a shorter roof, less of drum effect. I work at a ford dealership and we got three in today. One limited and two of the XLT models. Thats the only two models offered in 2007. The interior is pretty much the same as the Explorer. Along with the front end looking like an eddie bauer with the "nostrals" at the sides of the grille. It's available in 2wd and 4wd as well as the 4.0l V6 and the 4.6l V8. You also have ... strangely enough, the "newest" photos don't look much different than the old SporTrac. Maybe it was just a steroids type treatment to the looks. I would imagine that it was on display at LA and Detroit auto shows, you should be able to find a photo gallery from them. John Read More...

Hi All- Even with the 2007 Sport Trac featured prominently on their website, Ford is still keeping their clear photos "close to the vest" to use a poker term. The ones shown are taken at extreme angles and/or have the vehicle covered in mud.
