Very dependable car
Vehicle
2006 Chevrolet Impala SS 4dr Sedan (5.3L 8cyl 4A)
Review
Only one small problem in 2 1/2 years of ownership, one tire switch monitor keeps on going out but zero other problems after 41000 miles. As a frequent car changer every year or two but I foresee keeping this car for at least 2-5 more years.
Favorite Features
Power for passing, good mileage on the highway for V8. Up to 29 mpg with AC off & cruise on at 70 mph.
Suggested Improvements
Falling apart

2006 Chevrolet Impala LT 4dr Sedan (3.5L 6cyl 4A)
Review
First year no problems. Now the front end needs work, passenger window squeaks like a banshee, front headlight lens leaks, driver's seat coming apart, side molding peeling like a banana. It only has 26,000 miles. Thankfully I have an extended warranty! No telling what will happen next. I might give GM one more shot. The future looks like a Honda
Favorite Features
Great gas mileage, 22city with AC on, 32 highway at 68 mph
Suggested Improvements
Better quality, scrolling XM radio, digital climate control.

Disappointing SS
Vehicle
2006 Chevrolet Impala SS 4dr Sedan (5.3L 8cyl 4A)
Review
This car has all the horsepower and torque that Chevy boasts plus some. However, I'm severely disappointed in the multiple problems I've had with this car including the rack and pinion being replaced twice, steering shaft replacement, tire monitor problems and excessive oil consumption between oil changes. In my opinion, Chevy should have made this a rear wheel drive car. Being front wheel drive, it has too much torque steer. Also the brakes feel inadequate for the size and power of the car. I would not recommend this vehicle to anyone. As soon as I can, I will trade it in for something other than Chevy.
Favorite Features
303 horsepower. Bose stereo system. Nice exterior styling.
Suggested Improvements
Rear wheel drive, larger brakes, better bolstering for driver seat.

Excellent vehicle. I have had it almost 2 years and have only had a couple of problems. The first was an electrical problem when the computer and vehicle would shut down. This occurred when I was around 11,000 miles. The local Chevy dealer couldn't figure the problem out. I took the car to another dealer and they replased the battery. No more electrical problems. I just passed 53,000 miles and all is good. I change the oil every 10,000 miles with Royal Purple oil and a K&N Oil filter. The only other problem is malfunctioning tire pressure sensors. They ave been replaced 3 times thus far. It's no big deal. I drive Chevy's at work and they have similar issues. Otherwise, I love it!
Favorite Features
SS has a great layout for the interior and it is very comfortable. All controls are easy to use. The leather is nice.
Suggested Improvements
It would be nice if bluetooth was included inside the car. The only availabilty is OnStar with Verizon wireless which is not an option with so many cellular choices in the 21st century. Other manufacturers have already integrated this option into their products. It's time to get with the times.

2006 Chevrolet Impala LTZ 4dr Sedan (3.9L 6cyl 4A)
Review
Got my LTZ a little more than two years ago, no problems. Oil changes at dealer with 15,700 miles on car is all the service it has needed. Great power, ride, and look of the LTZ. Would be nice to have automatic climate control, and rear wheel drive. However, the price I got this LTZ with all the bells and whistles it was and still is a bargain and a great car. GM & Chevy need to keep up the work and show the American car is still king.
Favorite Features
Bucket seats, ride, and performance of the LTZ
Suggested Improvements
Rear wheel drive would be nice.

Comfortable on long rides. Minor things failed that detracts from an otherwise great car. I will definitely buy another one.
Favorite Features
Best feature is 32 mpg at under 70 mph. All around mileage is 28, when driven with care.
Suggested Improvements
None, I like the car

Last Chevy
Vehicle
2006 Chevrolet Impala SS 4dr Sedan (5.3L 8cyl 4A)
Review
My Impala is a fun car to drive, but not a fun car to own. So far the tire monitor system has died twice after being repair or replaced (under warrenty). The remote start receiver has to be replaced. The steering shaft had to be repace because of looseness in the steering. The seat risers had to be replaced because the driver seat became loose. All of the repairs were done under warrenty but tire monitor system just died again and the warrenty ran out. This is going to be my last Chevy. Back to the Toyota, Honda, or Nissan. Don't like fixing and paying for a car at the same time.
Favorite Features
I like the remote start system as long as it works.
Suggested Improvements
The door opening is not big enough for a 6ft 2 guy such as myself. The car looks like its giving birth each time I get out of it.

Love My Car
Vehicle
2006 Chevrolet Impala SS 4dr Sedan (5.3L 8cyl 4A)
Review
I got my Impala in early 2006. I was stopped at red lights, car washes, and everywhere else by people complimenting my nice car. It is the best car I have ever driven. The only negative that I can report is that the tire monitoring system is extremely sensitive about the tire pressure being just right. The only option that the car doesn't have is automatic climate control. Other than that, it is the best car. When my lease is up, I plan on getting another one!
Favorite Features
Too many great feature to list. I can't pick just one favorite.
Suggested Improvements
Need automatice climate control option. Tire monitoring system is almost too sensitive.

I have had two years now. Hwy mpg 26-27.5 which is quite good for 8 cylinder. Around town mixed city/hwy only 14-16 not good with prices now a days. Overall quality is good. Lots of wind and tire noise at highway speed. Would buy another but probably the LTZ version with the 6/3 DOD. Good front seat legroom.
Favorite Features
Looks. Get lots of comments on black SS. Remote start nice touch. XM radio. Huge trunk with large opening. Great power with some torque pull. Ipod plug in. Info center. Like the 8/4 DOD
Suggested Improvements
Better adjustments for driver seat. more leg room for rear passengers.
