2008 A3 3.2 quattro - breaks down at 4900 miles

Well, the first 4,900 miles on my new A3 were great. Then yesterday, I am cruising at about 65 mph on some freeways and getting great mileage. I exit onto a ramp and it dies. I bought a used 2007 A3 2.0T 6-speed manual S-line with less than 10,000 miles on it, taking advantage of the Audi's depreciation. Love the car, fast and fun to drive. I'm getting 30mpg, albeit with premium, a nice leather interior, good enough stereo (no mp3 support) I like the hatchback design, I can carry my friends and some gear without too much trouble. I have nearly 8,000 miles on my 2007 Audi A3. Overall, I am very pleased with the car. It is simply a blast to drive. I'm on my second A3. The first one 2006 - 6 speed red/black cloth, I loved the car, but after 8,000 miles I thought I heard wheel bearing growl. At 13,000 miles I paid for a alignment, at 16,000 miles the tires were replaced, I split the cost of them with the dealer. I don't see why it is insane to lowball it. It's the end of the year and it's to their advantage to see as may cars as they can to make their quota. Selling 20 cars looks better than selling 19, 100 is better than 99, etc... Read More...

I just purchased one yesterday, '07 A3 2.0T DSG Red from Audi of Concord, in the Bay Area. Options: S-Line pkg Tech pkg Audio pkg Sky Roof pkg Cold pkg MSRP was $35,000. Dealer accepted my offer of $28,000 and even threw in the Audi Care plan because it is getting close to the end of the year. Wondering what your thoughts are regarding winter driving with the A3. I would have snow tires mounted for the winter like I do on my 2 current vehicles(2007 Honda Ody and 1998 Honda CRV).
